Wonam was founded in 2011 with the aim of creating a housing portfolio with affordable, free-sector rental homes. Currently, more than 3,000 homes have either been realized, are under construction or in development. We focus on apartments in the Amsterdam and Utrecht region and within those regions in the emerging areas that are well connected with public transport.

A good example of this strategy is our focus on Amsterdam South East where we are currently developing approximately 500 apartments in a mixed use area that is connected to the city center with a metro line.

Wonam is a vertically integrated platform and has all disciplines in-house. We work with a team of 20 professionals who are active in either project development, building progress surveying and fund/asset management.

Wonam develops projects at locations that are zoned for residential purposes by the municipality.

Project Steltloper: 126 new mid-rental homes in the eastern port area of Amsterdam. 60-80m2 apartments, 2 and 3 bedrooms.

Wonam also acquires locations with outdated office buildings that we rezone for residential use. After demolishing the offices we start the residential construction.

Project Karsp: former office building is replaced for 274 mid-rental properties in Amsterdam South East. Construction was completed in 2022.

Wonam also transforms existing offices to residential use.

Project Zandkasteel: The headquarters of the ING bank, the monumental “Zandkasteel” building, was bought by Wonam and known real estate investor Zadelhoff in 2019. We are currently transforming the building into a mixed use building with 263 appartments, 47 offices, amenities and modern workplaces. The building is perfectly suited to house a co-living and co-working concept. The transformation will be completed spring 2023.
